2. Lace up and take off on the snowy slopes at Ylläs, Finland
Ylläs is Finland’s best and largest ski resort. It is made up of seven fells and is located between two authentic villages in Lapland, which means skiers can visit the slopes of two villages in one day. Ylläs is a wonderland for skiers offering long slopes that differ in altitude.
However, skiing is not the only activity you can do here, you can hike and discover the completely different landscapes of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, cycle on the new bike trails throughout wild western Lapland, ride the gondola up the fell during summer or even tour the pine forests and rolling fields on horseback. Ylläs is also home to Finland’s highest sauna with an outdoor jacuzzi. If you are lucky, you may even be able to see the Nothern Lights while chilling after a hot sauna. This is why Ylläs, Finland must be on your holiday bucket list.
3. Travel back in time and dive into Devil’s Den, Florida’s premier prehistoric spring
At Devil’s Den, you are in for a real treat! This spring is a hidden oasis with crystal clear water, ancient rock formations, fossil beds and much more. Located inside a dry cave in Williston, Florida, Devil’s Den has turned out to be a world-class attraction, and it’s definitely something you should not miss on your holiday bucket list. This cave has been home to many extinct fossils hence the name Devil’s Den Prehistoric Spring.

Sumba is a jaw-dropping island surrounded by pristine white sandy beaches lapped by turquoise waters, but also long strips of dry land which almost feel like an African savannah.

The famous Instagram-worthy Stairway to Heaven in Hawaii was built during World War II to house a top-secret military radio station. It is an epic, dangerous and illegal hike. That’s right, technically it is illegal, mainly due to liability reasons, since it was officially closed to the public in the 1980s and the steps have not been maintained since then. However, you can hike up the Stairway to Heaven legally by taking the Moanalua Valley Trail. There is speculation that the stairs will be taken down due to illegal trespassing however it is a national treasure with breathtaking scenery and fascinating history behind it.
